SPIRITWOOD –
Spiritwood. Tanrydoon Records TR-100. FACTORY SEALED
NEW VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Issued in 1979. This is the original
private pressing, released on the Tanrydoon label out of New Berlin, Pa. and
includes a lyric sheet insert.
NOTE, as
passed along from my supplier: This
pressing is thin and flimsy (think RCA Dynaflex pressings) and as a result of
storage over the years they have a slight dish-warp. From all accounts this does
not affect the play. The two copies I have for sale, as viewed sealed by look and feel suggest at most a trace of warp. If I ran into this on the road, without knowing
anything about the dish-warp, I wouldn’t give a second thought to picking this
up. Most all currently listed copies will be affected by this variable. Just
thought you should know.

DESCRIPTION:
“Hippy-flavored rural folk from
this duo, who write good songs and deliver tight male-female vocal harmonies. It
sounds almost a decade earlier than the release year, and recurring influences
from UK folk (like Clearing) contribute further to the sense of displacement.
Occasional use of piano and a strong sense of melody have made for some
comparisons with Mellow Candle, and it’s a testimony to Spiritwood’s quality
that this doesn’t seem too outlandish. There are a few moves towards CSN
domains, and late 1960’s westcoast in general, which should have been explored
more. The guitar arrangements (with banjo on two trad-ish numbers) interplay
seamlessly with the strong vocals, and the personal commitment makes up for a
certain lack of artistic direction.”

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed
outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted
as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request
that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both
jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for
shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers with inside packing.

depending on how many characters I have left in the title line). This item is

NEW LP: This item is new and unplayed, but was received from
a supplier without being shrink wrapped or cellophane wrapped; more common on
imports but also many of the smaller independent US labels do not seal their
LPs. These items are placed inside of a clear poly outer sleeve upon their
receipt by me

run number it will be included in the above description.

MIX: This sometimes
appears in my title line and refers to a group's/artist's music having a mix of
styles such a rock track with jazz then followed by a straight rock track
followed by a psych rock track, etc., as opposed to a blues album with the
album's tracks having predominantly one style.

$4.90 via USPS Media Mail for the
first single LP or double disc LP set (excluding box sets); this

$1.25 for each additional single
LP set and/or
$1.50 for each additional double
LP set.
All US packages are processed for
shipping via eBay and include a tracking number.

INTERNATIONAL Shipping:

International Service. Both above methods include tracking which may be
monitored via your purchases folder. Shipping on multiple item purchases is
based on weight at the current rate.

NON-ARRIVAL OF PACKAGES:
