William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne [1799 1848] also known as Henry William Lamb was a British Whig politician who served as Home Secretary from 1830 to 1834 and Prime Minster in 1834 and again from 1835 to 1841. He is well remembered for coaching Queen Victoria in the ways of politics. Listed for auction is the autograph of William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne signed on the front panel of a transmittal envelope. The panel is addressed in his hand and signed ''Melbourne'' in black ink. The panel measures 4.50 x 3.00 inches, it has trivial toning otherwise in very good condition. The autograph will be accompanied with a vintage cabinet card, both are displayed on a presentation page but can be removed. The autograph is authentic and is a nice example of this noted British statesman.
