1 x New aluminium boiler for the Gaggia Classic and associated coffee machines.
Over time limescale and and coffee residue will attack the sides of the boiler.
Have you just opened yours up to find more craters than on the moon.
Maybe it has more pits than the NCB in 1930's Yorkshire?

Thermostat
Gaggia Classic/Baby Contact Thermostats 107°c 10A 250V & 145°C 10A 250V Brew Temp.
Mounted on the top of the boiler the 145 degree thermostat controls the steam temperature and the 107 the brew temperature.
Should be fitted with a small amount of silicone heatsink paste.
Do not use a spanner to tighten, you will shear the thread. Thumb tight is enough. More than enough.
Take care when tightening, too much pressure, too much paste, a crossed thread, these could all lead to a broken thread. This thermostat has an M4 Brass thread, which is not designed to be tightened to within an inch of it's life.

Thermal Fuse
Gaggia Classic Thermal Fuse 250v 10A 184°C.
Replacement thermal fuse for Gaggia Coffee machines.

Bolts
If moisture has escaped from any part of your Gaggia Classic's boiler in a way the Mr Achille Gaggia did not intend then rusty bolts is a very real possibility.

Silicone grease, also known as plumbers grease is used to seal joints by filling in the gaps, it is hydrophobic and most importantly doesn't age the silicone and rubber gaskets.
