vintage two-sided flyer from Ace Comics for a new
trade paperback graphic novel by C.C. Beck.  
"On Top of Ol'Lympos" was apparently never published.

This item is from the archives of Jim Jones’ personal studio, which was recently purchased from his estate.  Born in 1928, Jim Jones was a prolific creator in the comic book field.  He worked for (and with) Harvey Kurtzman, Ron Wilber, R.C. Harvey and many others that were also close friends. Although he did not reach the prominence of some of his contemporaries, he was well known and respected in illustrator and creator circles, and his work was published frequently in numerous fanzines such as RBCC, The Collector, Fantasy Illustrated, Alter Ego, Batmania, ERBdom and more.  His professional work appeared in Playboy, Adam, Sir, Mad, Cracked, Trump, National Lampoon, Help!, Fantastic Monsters, Esquire, Sick and many other magazines! Several of his series were self-published with very limited print runs.  Among the voluminous
contents of his archives were many pieces of production art, many original finished pieces,
hundreds of sketches, and multiple copies of prints (most on plain paper) that he produced.
Everything that is being offered for sale is a vintage part of Jim’s studio archives and was produced or owned by him before his death.  Diagnosed with lung cancer in 1995, he passed away the following year.

MY GRADING SYSTEM FOR COMICS
I try to be fair and honest in my grading, and make every attempt to mention loose pages, stains, tears, binding damage, etc.
Sometimes I find that a comic falls between two grades, in which case I will list it with a two-grade scale.
NEAR MINT - MINT: I rarely use these grades, except when a comic is in truly exceptional condition.
VERY FINE: very nice with virtually no major defects.
FINE+: an even nicer copy, with minimal obvious defects.
FINE: a nice copy, flat with minor creases; may have some spine stress, but no prominent defects.
FINE-: better than VG+ but just a bit short of what I would consider Fine.
VERY GOOD+: most of the comics I list fall into this grade; a typical read comic with obvious defects as noted; may have light back cover stains.
VERY GOOD: fairly well-read with an accumulation of tears and defects as noted; may be heavily creased or spine-rolled; back cover stains may be present.
GOOD: a complete but heavily-read comic; may be missing pieces of covers, loose covers, rolled spine or other noted damage.
FAIR: a rough comic, with many defects including tears. missing pieces, water damage, spine wear, etc.
POOR: no missing pages unless noted, but otherwise a pretty trashed comic; almost any and every damage may be present.
