A tube-shaped piece of art glass is crafted by hand and stretched into a free form heart shape that begins as deep amber, red at its base and gradually lightens to a warm amber tone at the other side. The sculpture is mounted on a solid square of clear glass for balance and stability. Opus is handcrafted entirely using Favrile Art Glass which was first developed by L.C. Tiffany more than a century ago. The Favrile process embeds the color within the glass, which can cause subtle variations in color, pattern, and size. This means that no 2 pieces are exactly alike.
