For sale are 2 nutmeg bush cuttings.You can either put them in a jar of water on windowsill (water does discolour a bit from the bark),
On woodier cuttings I lightly scrape the end I want rooting to make it easier for the roots to form.
I often do that also if I pot them up and then I roll my freshly recut base and the scraped back bit in some cinnamon to encourage root growth. Raw honey works as well.
These are sturdy little woody stems of similar size as per pics.
Bees love this plant.
I love the strong musky smell of this plant,
it's like you know it must have important more unusual compounds.
I make a tea from this, steeping torn leaves into hot water,
you can use a mix like that to spray around the place to deter pests, or the crushed leaves can be added to pot pourrie.
Traditionally consumed for colds and flu, it also has very strong anti bacterial anti microbial properties and is good to gargle for sore throat and for dental hygiene, eye health and diabetes.
For headaches, crush leaves and inhale.
When pruning i strip the older leaves off and use as bedding for chooks,
keeping the young fresh leaves for our use.
