Up for sale are three double-sided pages of advertisements published in the 1918 Yachtsman's Guide, and that's what we're selling in this listing.
The first scan shows you an ad for the Wilcox, Crittenden & Company, Middletown, Connecticut, established 1847! Offering a wide range of Marine Hardware---anchors, pumps, compasses, deck plates and more. Nice graphics of his products. On the back is a partial index of the Yachtsman's Guide, and an ad for the Merchant Marine Manual.
On the next page you can see two ads, both for insurance companies offering yacht and motor boat insurance ads. One is the Hollis Burgess Yacht Agency, and the other is Field and Cowles, both of Boston. On the back of this page is partial information about licensing your yacht or motor boat.
On the third page is are three ads. One is for Frederic S. Nock, Naval Architect and Builder, East Greenwich, Rhode Island. The second ad is for D, Van Nostrand Company, Books for Navy Men, including books such as "The Submarine Torpedo Boat" and "The Marine Steam Turbine". At the bottom of the page is an ad for W.D. Messinger, Interior Decorator, Yacht Upholstering, Boston. On the back is an add for Mossberg Wrenches for Marine Service, Attleboro, Mass.
Each page measures about 6 x 9" and all are in very good condition, with a few
dog-eared corners or tiny edge nicks, slight folds, but all complete and totally readable. A few pages with normal surface soiling or minor stains. These pages were removed from the 1918 Yachtsman's Guide, so the pages show where the staples were and the pages are loose and not bound. Ads are very frame-able!
