THIS LOT IS THE NAMED PLAYER ONLY. From the final year set of the original Sportflics.
As is often the case, the last year of a series turns out to be very challenging. While the 1990 set has the most attractive and clearest pictures, the lack of market success caused an end of the 5 year Sportflic production of annual 200-225 card sets. (The series did resume in 1994). These are heavy duty, thick cards. With only 3 cards per pack, this was a Premium Brand level issue of the 1980s. Interest in Sportflics was highest when they were introduced in 1986 but thereafter waned and, by 1990, with the Upper Deck hi tech style having come of age, these multiple image cards had no market niche. During a tour of the Score/Sportflic production facilities in late 1989, I saw the manual labor effort still required to break down the partially cut sheets and then the sorting/packing process that was being done by hand for the brand new 1990 set! Combined Shipping on multiple purchases. PLEASE don't pay one at a time.
