Description
Outdoor 12 Gauge OFC Speaker Wire 100Ft
100 Feet - Klimate 12 Gauge Speaker is composed of 294 strands of tinned copper per conductor for superb durability in high moisture applications. Tinned copper will not oxidize or deteriorate over time like bare copper or CCA. The UV Sun Resistant PVC designates that this cable can be used outdoor in direct contact with ground and exposed to sun. Other applications include Marine, mobile audio, ATV and high moisture application.
Cable length has been printed and remaining length is indicated directly on the cable(see photo). The inner conductor jackets are color coded red and black to maintain proper polarity throughout your installation. The cable is finished in a black ultra-flex PVC jacket.

Plain and Simple Specifications
All KnuKonceptz Cable Products clearly state these specifications
- Wire type - CCA or OFC These materials are commonly used, but not commonly stated when shopping online. Know what you are purchasing. Both metals are capable of performing up to their rated loads.
- American Wire Gauge Wire gauge is crucial to powering your system correctly. Undersized cable will create unsafe conditions and may shorten your amplifier's life.
True American Wire Gauge (AWG) Products
- Using American Wire Gauge standards, the gauge of stranded wire is determined by the total area of the conductor.
- To calculate this you would take the area of each strand and add it together. This area, in square mm, then determines gauge.
- Speaker Wire is often written as 12-2 or 12/2. This means 12 gauge x 2 conductor, both positive and negative signal are carried within one cable and are each 12 gauge.
- Diameter is not as critical with stranded wire, this is due to the tiny air gaps between each strand. Diameter may fluctuate with strand size and how tightly wound the rope of the cable is.
- The smaller the number, the larger the wire, until you reach zero or aught (0). Most speaker wire ranges from 10 to 16 gauge. 18 to 22 gauge is often much too thin for most Home Theater applications.
- Based on AWG, the true gauge of this cable is 12 Gauge
Tinned Oxygen Free Copper - Marine Grade
- When bare copper is exposed to oxygen, it oxidizes over time (turns brown/green).
- These contaminants are damaging to the cable's ability to conduct electricity.
- Tin provides a protective barrier from oxygen to the bare copper underneath.
- By adding a thin layer of tin to each strand, the cable is no longer able to oxidize.
- Tin does not react with oxygen and therefore the cable will never change color or have any change in its ability to conduct electricity
Product FAQ
Q: Can this cable be used in other applications?
A: Absolutely, our Klimate series was designed for outdoor use, but can be used in general audio applications such as car audio, marine, and traditional home theater 5.1 type of installation.
Q: Which side is Positive and which is Negative
A: The cable consists of two cores, one red and one black. Please use the red conductor for positive connections to maintain proper polarity throughout the installation .
