This painting is about a Chinese Manchu Woman in the Qing Dynasty (1636-1912) undressing her clothes.  To be more specific, this Manchu woman is a Jianzhou Jurchen.  One interesting characteristic about their women is that they have their ears pierced since they're born.  Each ear has 3 holes, and they wear 3 earrings on each ear.
