LARGE BRONZE MEDALLION FOR THE OPENING OF NEW LONDON BRIDGE IN 1831

For sale a stunning British Large Bronze Medallion to commemorate the Opening Of the New London Bridge in 1831 by King William IV, the medal is by B. Wyon.

"USA interest:- this was the bridge that was famously sold to the USA in 1967. It was purchased by the Missourian entrepreneur Robert P. McCulloch of McCulloch Oil for US$2,460,000"

the obverse:- WILLIAM THE FOURTH with a portrait facing right below.

the reverse:- LONDON BRIDGE above an image of New London Bridge, below COMMENCED 15. JUNE 1825 / OPENED 1. AUGUST / 1831.

The medallion is in Near Uncirculated condition. Diameter 51mm, weight 61.8g.
