This listing is for a lovely Sterling Silver compote with gadroom border, a reticulated outer band alternating with embossed design and fluted design in the center. Compote sits on a stepped pedestal base. Marked on base with the Birks trademark stamp and "Birks Sterling, 75/15". Birks was the most influential silver manufacturer in Canada during the 20th Century. Henry Birks & Co. was established in Montreal in 1879 as a retail jeweler, however, in 1897 Birks bought out their largest supplier of silverware and started the successful production of their own products.
Measures 3" high and 7 1/2" in diameter. Weighs 218 grams.
This nice compote is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws.
