You are bidding for a video record of the long discarded 16mm film described below.   When the films  were  made they  provided a unique insight into its particular subject.  Over the last thirty years a number of enthusiasts realised that such films provided an untapped source of information on past techniques and methods At some time in the past they  would have been rescued after being discarded as obsolete by the original owners .

Any money raised from the sale of this video will go towards offsetting the costs of more rescues.

Combine Harvesters are the some of the biggest and most impressive machines used in agriculture, Here we have both a DVD of combine harvesters in action  accompanied by a book “The Illustrated History of Combine Harvesters” published by Ian Allan Publishing.

The book describes the origins and development of combines from the beginning up to the turn of the Century.

  The main part of the accompanying  DVD follows Dale Starks  a custom cutter as he and his team harvest their way up the  2000 miles  of United States and Canada.

     This topic has been covered over the years by several documentary teams as well as at least two fiction films.  In this particular case the combines featured are Massey Ferguson 760s  from their Canadian Factory although other makes are seen briefly.    This would put the original film somewhere around 1980   A second film on the same film features the smaller and older International 151s at work.
