A beautiful flower that is from the Mint family that not only bees get their nectar
 from them but the hummingbirds need them to for nectar!
Monardo is a member of the mint family
 and has aromatic foliage and shaggy looking flowers.
 The flowers are attractive to hummingbirds and are useful as cut flowers.
The plant can become a weed if not controlled.
 Once the plants have bloomed they may be cut back to obtain a second flowering.
The plant grows in full sun to partial shade and in any moist soil of average fertility.
 In time, the centers of clumps become hollow or dead and need to be divided.
 Powdery mildew will usually attack monardo.
Bee Balm attracts bees along with hummingbirds and other pollinators.
These plants also serve as a butterfly nectar source.
It's fragrant leaves are used to make tea and potpourri.
