This listing is for a lovely vintage S. Kirk & Son Sterling Silver teaspoon in the beautiful "Repousse" pattern issued in 1828. No monogram.

Measures 5 7/8" long. Weighs 30 grams.

This lovely spoon is decorated with an elegant all-over chased floral design on handle and stem in high relief. The silver is in excellent condition with no damage or flaws other than minimal signs of normal wear.

Marked "S. Kirk & Son, Sterling" on reverse stem. This mark was used from 1868-1890.

The iconic "Repousse" pattern by S. Kirk & Son made its debut in 1828 making it the oldest Sterling Silver pattern produced in the United States where its remained to this day as one of the most popular patterns ever created. To create this pattern, the Philadelphia trained silversmith Samuel Kirk revived an ancient technique known as "repousse" to create an embossed design that is both versatile and instantly recognized.
