Comedian Bob Hope had more acting talent than many credit him for, and BOY, DID I GET A WRONG NUMBER, is proof. Here, the fast-talking Hope plays Oregon real estate agency Tom Meade with skillful realism, and the results are hilarious. Meade gets involved in a complex and, at times, deadly matrimonial battle when he mistakenly calls French theatre star Didi, played step for step with Hope by the voluptuous and talented Elke Sommer. Didi decides to hide from her movie director boyfriend in Tom Meade's lakeshore cottage, and poor Tom will spend every waking minute trying to keep his devoted wife from discovering the seductive Didi. Fortunately for Tom, he has the assistance of zany family maid Lily, played by funny lady Phyllis Diller. It's toss and go if Tom will ever get the courage to send the runaway starlet packing, but with veteran comedy director GEORGE MARSHALL at the helm, BOY, DID I GET A WRONG NUMBER is fun from start to finish.
