In a world where so much is designed to be disposable,
a fine art collection offers lasting value.
ADVISE FOR BUYERS OF FINE ART
Art Buyers need to know what they are, or are not, getting when buying art. Original art has been created by the hand of the artist. This includes paintings and original prints, printed
from printing plates or silk screens created by the hand of the artist. Digitally printed art, and offset lithographs, are not original art, only reproductions of art and have little value.
Original works of art are not normally purchased for decoration, such as to match the carpeting, drapes, etc. Each piece of original art should be viewed as a person and thus stand alone without regard for being a part of the decorating. Each piece of art should be framed to complement the art and hung on the wall wherever you want to view it. Any style of art may hang next to whatever other piece of art you want.
When inviting guests to your home, you don’t provide them with color samples so they match the sofa or other decor with what they wear. Each of them stands alone as should each piece of fine art you hang on the wall. Many designers and art dealers are recommending art to compliment the decor. This should not be how you select and hang fine art. Each piece should stand alone and be enjoyed accordingly.
PLAY WITH FLYING HEAD
"PLAY WITH FLYING HEAD" is an original lithograph depicting characters in costume during 'Carnival Time' in St. Petersburg during the period of Peter the Great.
The size of the image is 20" X 17 1/2" plus full margins. This print is from an edition of 300 and is in mint condition. My picture is from another piece from the edition which was an HC of 25 and there are also 15 E.A. (Artist's Proof in French). I sold this HC piece long ago and the piece I am offering in this listing is 144/300 (from the numbered portion of the edition).
Casanova Sculpture in St. Marks Square by Chemiakin
Chemiakin books volumes I & II plus a few museum catalogues
Mihail Chemiakin is one of the foremost international artists of our time. A quote from the Robb Report (Jan. 1995) states "so great are his talents that he is one of the few artists working today who sets the standard by which all other contemporary art is measured".
The extent of his accomplishments, exhibitions and awards are too great to even try and mention, but I will mail his 5 page biography upon request. For further information on the artist, his technique and other available images, request information by email or view my web site at: allianceartpublishing.com
He has earned 5 honorary doctorates. The Hermitage Museum held an exhibition in Oct. 1995 of such magnitude that a 7 volume catalog was printed for it.
