| Antique Art Deco Kitchen Mold French but Found at Khan-el-Khalili, Cairo |
|

|
I was in Cairo in late 2010, right before their Revolution started. I went alone through the famous Khan-el-Khalili market and found this fabulous old copper Mold. It has an Art Deco style to it. It is most likely French, and is from the 1920's. The work going into making this shape is fabulous. The patina is very dark. This is smaller than most of the molds you will see, measuring 4 1/2" across and 2 1/8" tall. Its base is a little "out of round". You could push it back in to shape as desired, but I have left this "as found". This will be a wonderful addition for anyone who collects and loves antique molds! Note that the first photos look different than the ones that follow. The first set was taken without a flash, and the second set WITH a flash. It really seems to make a difference in the coloring.
