This piston kit is a design sold exclusively
by PitStopPerformance.com. It's official
designation is PSP-MTC-K1075. The dome on
this piston is exactly one half the height
of the dome on the standard MTC-K1075 piston.
This smaller dome was designed by PitStopPerformance.com
to lower the cranking compression
of the motor when used with stock camshafts.
There is a lot of confusion when comparing
the advertized compression ratios from one
piston manufacturer to the other. As it turns
out, each manufacturer has their own way of
determining compression ratio. What is more
important to the rider of the motorcycle than
compression ratio is the cranking compression
with whatever camshafts are installed. When a
camshaft with longer duration is installed
the cranking compression of the motor will
be reduced regardless of the type of piston
installed. For this reason, PitStopPerformance.com
will rate our KZ pistons according to the standard
cranking compression expected with a particular
set of camshafts installed. The PSP-MTC-K1075
piston kit is intended to be used with stock
camshafts and the advertized cranking compression
will be based on that application.
This piston kit has 10.5:1 cranking compression
when used with stock camshafts.

These pistons are manufactured in Cocoa Florida
using the highest quality aluminum alloy.

The alloy used by MTC does not contain any
silicone as used by other manufacturer's.

Each piston is subjected to a battery of quality control
checks to assure uniformity and high quality.

Some of the world's fastest motorcycles are
equipped with MTC Engineering pistons.

This MTC Engineering piston kit
contains the following:
(4) 72mm aluminum forged pistons,
10.5:1 cranking compression
with stock camshafts
(4) Hard chromed wrist pins.
(4) Sets of 72mm rings.
(with three piece oil ring)
(8) Teflon buttons sized for a 72mm bore.
(buttons take the place of circlips)
(1) Cometic two piece fiber head gasket with chain galley o'ring.
(1) Cylinder base gasket.

Notice that this kit comes complete with
a $42.95 set of teflon wrist pin buttons
not a 99 cent set of circlips as in other kits.

If you have ever seen what a
dislodged circlip can do to a piston and
cylinder, you would never use them again.

You get all of the parts listed above.

This piston kit will
fit Kawasaki Z1, KZ900
and KZ1000 models.
For use on a Z1 or KZ900
either the sleeves must
be changed in the 903cc
cylinder, or a KZ1000
cylinder must be used.
This covers all models
from 1973 through 1980.

The pistons have 17mm wrist pins.
They have valve reliefs sized for
39mm intake valves and 33mm exhaust valves.
