ITEM DESCRIPTION AND STORY

A powerful and distinctive lot of vintage silver-tone beads, originally part of a broken bracelet and now offered as a matched salvage set. These bold square box beads with twisted rope detailing are most likely of North African origin, with strong stylistic ties to traditional Moroccan or Berber (Amazigh) jewelry from the mid-20th century.

The set includes two complementary bead styles: three square beads accented with black striped detailing and three matching beads in solid silver tone. All square beads are double-drilled, with holes on opposite sides of each bead, designed for two-strand stringing. This construction is typical of traditional tribal bracelets and allows for ladder-style, cuff-style, or structured multi-strand designs.

Sourced locally in southern Spain — a historic crossroads for North African trade and migration — these beads carry cultural depth, weight, and honest age. Ideal for jewelry designers, collectors of ethnic or tribal jewelry, or anyone looking to repurpose authentic vintage materials into a new creation. The untouched patina and visible wear are part of their story and appeal.
