Tudor historical romance, Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn |
The illustration depicts a crowded meeting outside a fortified castle gateway, with courtiers, ladies, horses and attendants gathered around the central figures.
It's an attractive, highly detailed composition, with a particularly good sense of theatrical movement.
The sheet has generous margins and appears reasonably well preserved. There is some age toning, light foxing and minor nicks along the upper edge, but the illustration itself looks quite sound.
