Item Description :

This is a vintage Japanese lid rest (Futaoki) of Raku ware, which was made by a famous potter, Keiraku Ito (1932-) about 30 years ago.

Japanese CHOCHIN, paper lantern is molded. 

The seal of the potter is stamped on the body.  The original wooden box with the signature of the potter is also included. 

Futaoki is used for tea ceremony. 

Futaoki is used to put a lid of kettle or MIZUSASHI (water container) on it. Futaoki is one of essential item for tea ceremony or tea party.
