Vintage (Mid-Century) American porcelain dessert set. The pattern featured is "Lady in the Garden" (or "Victorian Lady"), produced in the 1940s-1950s. The scene, which is transferware, depicts a woman in a pink crinoline gown carrying a basket of lavender next to a garden birdhouse; colorful flowers all around, a bird above. Wide textured borders, clad in 22-karat gold trim. The set includes:
* 6 cups apx 3 1/2" diameter, not including the handles
* 6 saucers, apx 6 1/4" diameter
* 6 sandwich or dessert plates, apx 8 1/8" diameter
* cake plate, apx 12" X 11 1/2"
Marked, made by Taylor, Smith & Taylor (TS&T), an American pottery company based in West Virginia; distributed by Eastern China Co (NY); and "22 K Gold". Please note the cake plate has 2 small chips on the underside of the rim, and there is general light wear to the gold borders .. otherwise all in very good, gently used condition.
