Antique set of six Leonard Mfg. Co. silverplate souvenir spoons made for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The set is housed in a fitted red plush-lined presentation case. Period Leonard advertising from shortly after the fair specifically promoted six-spoon exposition sets sold in an “elegant plush lined case,” making the surviving fitted case an especially appealing part of this set.
Please note: The box does not remain fully open on its own. It was gently held open for the first photo to better show the interior and spoons. The box is approx. 7" x 4" and each spoon is approx 5.75" long.
Each spoon features a different exposition building, including:
The reverse of each spoon is marked Leonard Mfg. Co.
Condition: Good antique condition with age-related tarnish, surface wear, and areas of plating wear consistent with age and use. The spoons have been left in their original unpolished condition and have not been cleaned or polished. The fitted red plush-lined case shows expected wear, fading, and age to the exterior and interior. The box latch is present, though slighly bent, it functions properly. Please review all photos closely for condition and details.
