Christ Church Philadelphia Pennsylvania PA Linen Postcard.

Christ Church was begun in 1727 but the final completion of the spire did not occur until 1754. The chancel with its fine Palladian window, quaint shield and portrait over the keystone, and the rich carved panel above, is one of its greatest beauties.

A beautiful example of Georgian colonial architecture, Christ Church is bordered by a tree-lined brick path, a small park and a cobblestone alley, which provide the perfect setting for this historic treasure.Notably, the tower and steeple made it the tallest building in America until 1856.

Colourpicture (1938-1969) Boston and Cambridge, MA: was a greeting card and postcard printer and distributor in Boston, Massachusetts, on Newbury Street with a factory at 76a Atherton Street. A major publisher and printer of linen view-cards of the United States. They later went on to publish photochromes and small spiral bound picture booklets under the trademark Plastichrome in the 1950’s. The trademark expired in 1987.
