1776 2026 W $1 PEACE DOLLAR NGC MS70 FIRST DAY OF ISSUE ENHANCED 250TH LIBERTY BELL PRIVY MARK

Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of American Independence with this exceptional 1776–2026 Peace Silver Dollar, struck in 2026 at the West Point Mint and certified by NGC as MS 70 Enhanced Finish – First Day of Issue. This special one-year Semiquincentennial issue combines Anthony de Francisci’s classic Peace Dollar design with anniversary elements created specifically for 2026, including the historic 1776–2026 dual date and the distinctive Liberty Bell “250” privy mark. The U.S. Mint confirms that this is the first Peace Dollar ever issued with an Enhanced Uncirculated finish and that it was produced at West Point in .999 fine silver.

The obverse features Liberty wearing her radiant crown, accompanied by LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, the special dual date, and the anniversary privy. The reverse depicts an eagle at rest holding an olive branch above the word PEACE, one of the most recognizable and symbolic designs in American numismatics. This anniversary edition retains that historic imagery while adding the special finish and commemorative details unique to America’s 250th anniversary.

This example has been graded NGC MS70, just one grading point below the highest possible Mint State grade, and carries the desirable First Day of Issue designation. NGC states that First Day of Issue certification requires qualifying coins to have been purchased within one day of the Mint’s initial release and received by NGC or an approved depository within the required submission period with supporting documentation. For regular bulk submissions, NGC specifically limits this designation to qualifying submissions, making FDI examples a more specialized segment of the overall issue.

Adding further appeal is the striking America250 Liberty Bell-themed NGC label, which visually complements the coin’s own Liberty Bell 250th Anniversary privy.
