Description

Fine antique German hand-painted porcelain plaque depicting “Heimathlos” / “Homeless,” after Wilhelm Kray.

The plaque shows a young barefoot female figure holding a tambourine beside a harp, painted in the late 19th-century Continental porcelain plaque tradition. The porcelain plaque measures approximately 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”.

The reverse has an impressed circular monogram mark and an impressed 324 size mark. The plaque is signed lower right.

Presented in an ornate gilt frame. The frame shows visible antique wear, rubbing, chips, and losses to the gilt/gesso decoration. The porcelain plaque displays beautifully.

Good antique condition overall. The porcelain plaque presents well. The frame has visible age wear, gilt/gesso losses, chips, rubbing, and old surface wear. Reverse has impressed circular monogram mark and impressed 324 mark. Sold as shown. Also BLUE STAMP MAKERS MARK THAT I CANNOT READ
