1776 2026 W $1 MORGAN DOLLAR NGC MS69 FIRST DAY OF ISSUE ENHANCED UNC 250TH LIBERTY BELL PRIVY MARK
Offered here is an exceptional 1776–2026 Morgan Silver Dollar, struck at the West Point Mint in 2026 for the United States’ historic 250th Anniversary of Independence and certified by NGC as MS 69 Enhanced Finish – First Day of Issue.
This is not a standard annual Morgan Dollar. The U.S. Mint created the 2026 issue as a special one-year Semiquincentennial edition, combining George T. Morgan’s classic design with several features unique to America’s 250th anniversary. The Mint confirms that the Enhanced Uncirculated Morgan was released August 25, 2026, carries the special 1776 ~ 2026 dual date, and features the Liberty Bell “250” privy mark.
NGC confirms that the Enhanced Uncirculated 1776–2026 Morgan Dollar has a maximum mintage of 250,000 coins. NGC also confirms its official partnership with America250 for the 250th-anniversary certification program.
The First Day of Issue designation is particularly worth noting. Unlike ordinary Early Releases or First Releases submissions, NGC states that First Day of Issue certification for these coins is available only under qualifying procedures, including select bulk submissions, with documentation demonstrating first-day purchase and timely submission. That makes FDI-certified examples a substantially more specialized subset of the total 250,000-coin mintage.
The label on this particular holder adds another collector element. It prominently combines America250 branding with Liberty Bell artwork, visually matching the historic 250th-anniversary theme of the coin itself. NGC publicly confirms its America250 partnership, although this particular Liberty Bell artwork is not among the standard labels listed for ordinary individual submissions on NGC's published Morgan/Peace submission page. This appears consistent with a specialized/bulk-market label configuration rather than the common standard Morgan label.
The coin itself displays the classic George T. Morgan portrait of Liberty on the obverse together with the special dual date and anniversary privy. The reverse retains Morgan's famous American eagle with outstretched wings, arrows, olive branch and wreath.
One important technical point for knowledgeable collectors: while the coin is commonly marketed as the 2026-W Morgan Dollar and NGC identifies it as 1776-2026(W), the U.S. Mint specification states that it was struck at West Point with no conventional W mint mark. The West Point attribution therefore should not be confused with a visible traditional “W” mintmark on the coin.
