An original World War Two related letter written by a soldier postmarked 1946. In one area it says,.....doing......guard duty at the J_p Prisoner of War stockade..............When we first came to Saipan we had 121 men & 8 officers in our Co. and now it is down to 1 officer and 47 men. we had combat patrols a while before the war ended. We would got out in the jungles & hunt n_ps allnight & day.........The Bn.has credit for about 400 J_ps killed or captured. I got  my share too.........  The cover has the send to address of Cheshire Connecticut.

The letter has some wear in areas.
