Vintage Speedeecut Adjustable Carpet & Rug Maker tool by A. Hurley & Sons Ltd. 

Comes complete with its original vintage cardboard box and paper instructions on the reverse. 

I am not a rug maker myself so I haven't tested it with actual yarn, but the mechanical shuttle mechanism has been checked and it slides smoothly back and forth with the needle moving as it should. 

A fantastic piece of mid-century British craft history, perfect for a modern textile artist or collector.
