“CHOISY-LE-ROI, SEVRES, CLICHY”

The Choisy-Le-Roi crystal factory (Val de Marne) was founded in 1805, managed by

Georges BONTEMPS from 1829 to 1855, it closed definitively in 1855.

Léon HOUDAILLE and Alfred LANDIER are managers of the “Cristallerie de Sèvres” 

established in lower Meudon near Sèvres since 1756 by the Marquise de Pompadour

 In 1870, the merger of the “Cristallerie de Sèvres” and that of Clichy took place.

(Haut-de-Seine) under the name “Cristalleries de Sèvres et Clichy Réunis”.

In 1890, Léon HOUDAILLE left Alfred LANDIER in charge of the crystal factory

to restart that of Choisy-le-Roi closed since 1855. This will merge little

some time later with the Asnières-sur-Seine glassworks of Paul TRIQUET.

The real economic growth of the Choisy-le-Roi crystal factory will take place from

of 1932 with the absorption of the “Sèvres et Clichy Réunis” crystal factory which

will provide the necessary equipment and experience for production and editing

of molded and pressed glass from emblematic designers of the art deco era:
