An early book by the famous cartoonist Charles Dana Gibson, this one entitled "The Education of Mr Pipp". Published in 1899.
Charles Dana Gibson (1856-1944) was an American illustrator who created the famous "Gibson Girls". He published his illustrations and cartoons in "Life" magazine which he eventually went on to own.
The book contains 73 black and white illustrations all with a witty social comment and many featuring Gibson Girls. It is the story of Mr Pipp, a hapless American who goes on a tour of Europe with his two attractive daughters. They finally end up married and Mr Pipp becomes a grandfather!
In fair condition for its age. The pages are slightly loose from the spine and there is scuffing around the edges of the covers. The illustrations themselves are in good condition.
