The Alessi Eugenia Decanter is a minimalist, contemporary glassware piece designed by the renowned Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa.
Design & Inspiration
The decanter serves as a tribute to company head Alberto Alessi’s winery, “La Signora Eugenia e il Passero Solitario”. Fukasawa drew direct design inspiration from the winery's distinctive conical bottles, which were originally modeled after a structural sketch by Leonardo da Vinci.
A central aesthetic motif of the design is the use of a subtle obtuse angle—referred to in Japanese as "Donkaku"—which creates its uniquely clean, modern silhouette and serves as the unifying geometric feature across the broader Alessi Eugenia Glassware Collection.
