Up for Auction Vintage Railroad Oil Can

Description: PRR Pennsylvania Railroad Oil Can – Johnson URBANO Ohio – J‑in‑Diamond Lid

Additional Details: Original Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) metal oil can with embossed PRR keystone logo.

This is a mid‑20th‑century railroad shop oiler manufactured by Johnson Manufacturing Co., Urbana, Ohio, identified by the URBANO OHIO screw‑lid marking and the J‑in‑diamond maker’s stamp. Johnson supplied oilers and shop hardware directly to major railroads, including PRR, and this ribbed‑body style is one of their most recognizable designs.

The can features the classic two‑rib reinforced body, angled spout, side handle, and bail handle used for locomotive and shop lubrication work. PRR‑marked Johnson oilers are harder to find than generic industrial versions and are sought after by railroadiana collectors.  A genuine piece of Pennsylvania Railroad shop equipment — not a reproduction.

Dimensions: 8 1/2" tall X 5 1/4" diameter

Condition: Good condition - Solid and complete with expected age wear, patina, and surface oxidation from decades of use. Embossed PRR keystone is clear and visible. Spout and handles are intact.
