The cork obtained from the cork oak is first soaked in hot water
bathed, among other things, to ensure that no bacteria etc. in the material
remain. It is then dried over several months, cut into thin slices and then fixed to a thin base in order to obtain a tear-resistant end product. When extracting cork, only the outermost layer of the tree is scraped - so that no tree has to die in the process. The subsequent production process is also resource- and environmentally friendly.
