Limited Edition

Comedies, Tragedies, Histories

Author: William Shakespeare

Illustrations by Rockwell Kent

Description:  This is a fairly rare set of limited edition Shakespeare from Franklin Library.  Seen far less than even the elite Oxford editions from the same publisher.  These are also not quarter leather editions, but full leather bound in particularly rich burgundy with deep embossing of gilt design.  The moire fabric end sheets are also deep rich burgundy in color.  A beautiful set! --  I primarily sell Easton Press, but to tell the truth, many Franklin Library editions are higher quality depending on the series, title, and time frame they were published.  The leathers are often thicker and richer dyed, the embossing is deeper and the gilt less fragile.  Some of the books Franklin made before they went out of business were lower quality, but that was very late.  If you have not tried Franklin Library books, you should.

Condition:  Leather is bright with only light sign of any shelf wear.  Only little marr to gilt page ends. Light sign of handling  to slipcase with a few marks or scuffs, as is normal for just about any slipcase out of the plastic.  It's even less common to get these volumes all together and with the slipcase.  The current exterior photos are of the last set I sold.  This set is essentially identical general condition.  I will update the photos when I get a chance.
