This listing is for a French Antique Brass Sweet Chestnut Roaster circa 1890, all Brass construction with Copper rivets to the handle and lid hinge.

The chestnuts were roasted on an open fire and had to be shaken to stop them from burning, the lid was to contain them as they were prone to exploding.
