Vintage 1980s sterling silver earrings by metalsmith Charlie Buck. Acquired from a private estate collection, these Postmodern wearable art earrings are titled “Opera Singers” and feature an asymmetrical pair of heads or faces reduced to geometric angles and spiral forms in a Picasso-esque abstract line drawing style. 14K yellow gold posts. New sterling ear backs will be provided with purchase. Signed, titled, and dated 1988 with Buck’s hand-engraving on back. Buck was a jewelry artist whose experimental studio work was showcased in many prominent galleries across the U.S. during the 1980s and 1990s. These are an extra large statement size of approximately 2.55” length. The gold ear posts are placed towards the middle, so they artfully climb up the ear when worn. Acid tested for silver and gold fineness. Pre-owned condition with natural patina and surface wear commensurate with age. Please note, the gold ear posts have a gradual bend downward from the original owner (see image) and should not be bent back straight.
