Vintage Chinese Cheongsam Turquoise Blue Floral Lace Brocade Qipao Dress

This vintage Chinese cheongsam turquoise blue floral lace brocade qipao dress dates from the 1950s. It is made of a turquoise blue color raised padded satin stitch floral lace pattern brocade fabric with a shimmering silver gray sheer background. This beautiful blue Westernized Chinese cheongsam dress has a fitted hourglass style, with side slit vents, a scalloped hemline, mandarin collar, sleeveless, a side zipper closure with snap closures along the front neckline and is fully lined in an pale ice blue silk satin fabric. Manchu women early on wore a loose fitting one-piece dress which were called "qipao", transforming later to the more form fitting style "Mandarin Gown" popular in Shanghai during the 1920s-1940s becoming more influenced by Western fashion and fabrics. The dress measures 40 inches long, with a 32 inch chest, 26 inch waist, 36 inch hips, 14 inch back and a 14 inch neck. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a wonderful handmade fully lined custom made piece of Westernized Chinese cheongsam wearable art!
