Victorian Era Antique Black Chantilly Bobbin Lace Mantilla Large Veil Shawl
This antique Victorian era black Chantilly bobbin lace mantilla large veil shawl dates from the late 19th century. It is made of a sheer fine black net French Chantilly bobbin lace, with a lush floral foliage botanical design pattern outlined in raised cordonnet black threads with detailed shading effects, veined leaves and has a beautiful decorative scalloped border edging. This magnificent mantilla lace large shawl scarf veil head covering has an intricately done design throughout and has been created into a triangle shape with scalloped edgings. The shawl measures 114 inches wide across the top and is 54 inches long down the center to the bottom point. It is in good as-is condition, with a scattering of several small frayed holes breaks in the lace (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana Chantilly bobbin lace mantilla wearable art!
