Victorian Antique Black Chantilly Bobbin Lace Mantilla Veil Scarf Headdress Trim

This antique Victorian era black Chantilly bobbin lace mantilla veil scarf headdress trim dates from the 1890s. It is made of a sheer fine black net French Chantilly bobbin lace, with a floral foliage vine leaf design pattern outlined in raised cordonnet black threads with detailed shading effects and a decorative scalloped border bottom edging. This lovely lace mantilla veil scarf headdress would have been worn over a women's head with a Spanish peineta ornament underneath for church services, special occasions, it has a semi circle shape with a finished straight edge top, scalloped bottom edging, is sheer, unlined and is a museum deaccession piece with tag attached. The lace measures 33 inches long across the top edging and is 15 inches wide down the center. It is in good condition, with only a few tiny pin holes (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana Chantilly lace mantilla headwear wearable art!
