Up for sale is a set of 8 vintage 1847 Rogers Bros “First Love” pattern bouillon/soup spoons, silverplate, marked “1847 Rogers Bros” with the “IS” (International Silver) hallmark on the reverse of each handle. The First Love pattern features an ornate floral and shell motif at the top of the handle and was introduced in 1937.
Each spoon has “First Love” engraved along the back of the handle to identify the pattern. These have the round, deep bowl typical of bouillon or cream soup spoons rather than the oval bowl of a teaspoon.
Condition: Consistent with age and use — expect tarnish, light surface scratches, and typical silverplate patina throughout, as shown in photos. One spoon shows a small personal monogram engraved on the back of the bowl. No deep dents or bowl damage noted, but please review all photos closely as they are part of the description. As silverplate (not sterling), sold as-is with no guarantee of plating condition beyond what’s pictured.
A lovely, useful set for vintage flatware collectors or anyone wanting classic Rogers Bros pieces for everyday or special-occasion use.
