Naoyuki Mihara has consistently caught numerous big bass in tournaments interviews and private fishing situations using the Gillroid Jr. and Lazy Swimmer lures. Mihara who excels with these two lures chose the gill-shaped jointed swimbait Gill Soft 130 as the first product under his own brand WAZAMONO. It's not only effective for enticing bites when stopped in cold water but its jointed structure allows for a rare side-to-side darting action in swimbaits. When performed continuously it can even achieve a side-to-side head-shaking action similar to hard lures which is difficult to achieve with soft materials. This results in an all-season gill-shaped swimbait that can be used even during the high season when bass are attracted to fast movements. The main goal of the Gill Soft is to significantly improve the hooking rate a weakness of gill-shaped lures with a high body profile. With the Gillroid Jr. a gill-shaped hard plug Mihara has repeatedly experienced the bitter experience of bass not fully entering the mouth due to the body's height and hooks leaving only teeth marks on the head. To solve this Mihara devised a solution: soft material. Because it's made of a soft material it folds easily into the mouth of a bass and the hook is fixed to the body so it doesn't get in the way. Visually it's possible to create a three-dimensional and realistic shape for each fin which is a big advantage for Gill Soft lures which are often used to entice fish to bite while stopped. In particular the pectoral fins are not molded as one with the body but are attached separately which not only makes them look realistic but also makes them react to water currents with a twitching sound. The pelvic fins are designed so that the hook point is not hidden but most of the hook is hidden so as not to make the bass feel any discomfort and it is designed not to interfere with hooking. By default it is a floating specification with a #2 treble hook. By inserting a nail sinker with a total weight of about 1g into the belly it can be adjusted from suspend to dead slow sinking. There will be differences in the buoyancy of the inner core. Also the weight of the nail sinker will vary slightly due to the effect of water temperature. A side hook hanger is installed on the side where a treble hook can be attached. Depending on the situation the hook on the belly can be removed and it can be tuned to a side hook specification. *We recommend hook sizes #3 or #4 to avoid alarming the bass but be careful when using heavy tackle as the hook may straighten out if you don't hook and fight the fish carefully.
