Product Description
š© Product Overview
Upgrade or replace your worn transmission gears with this precision Mod 1 (1M) 12-tooth pinion / spur gear. Machined from high-quality carbon steel (typically 45# steel) with a black-oxide / blackened finish for added wear and corrosion resistance, it delivers solid torque transfer and long service life in RC, robotics, and small mechanical drives .
š Key Specifications
- Module: 1 (Metric Mod 1 / 1M)
- Teeth: 12T (Straight tooth / spur profile)
- Bore (Inner Hole): 4 / 5 / 6 / 6.35 / 7 mm options (select the bore to match your shaft)
- Outer Diameter: ~14 mm
- Face / Tooth Height: ~12 mm (overall height ~18 mm depending on batch)
- Material: Carbon Steel (45# / C45 equivalent), black finish
- Fixing: Supplied with grub/set screws (usually M4 x 2) for secure shaft locking
- Tooth form: Straight (spur), 20° pressure angle standard
āļø Features & Benefits
- Stronger and more wear-resistant than stock plastic or aluminium pinions—ideal for high-torque brushless / brushed motor setups .
- Precision hobbed teeth for smooth mesh, low noise, and efficient power transmission .
- Set-screw style mounting (no press-fit hassle); use thread-locker for vibration-heavy applications .
- Multiple bore sizes (4–7 mm) to fit common RC motor shafts, DIY motors, and mechanical shafts .
- Great for tuning gear ratios: 12T gives a balanced blend of acceleration and top-end speed on 1/8-scale RC and similar platforms (always pair with a matching Mod 1 spur) .
šÆ Typical Applications
- 1/8-scale RC cars, trucks, buggies, truggies (as motor pinion, diff/transmission gear) .
- Robotics, CNC/3D-printer motion tweaks, automation jigs, and small gearboxes .
- DIY electronics, motor shaft couplings, and prototype mechanical projects .
- Replacement for stripped/worn 12T Mod-1 gears in hobby and light-industrial use .
š§ Installation Tips
- Confirm your mating spur gear is also Module 1 (different modules do not mesh correctly) .
- Select the gear with the bore that matches your motor/ shaft diameter (4–7 mm).
- Slide onto the shaft, align set screws with any flat/key area if present, and tighten firmly with the appropriate hex key; add thread-locker if used in high-vibration RC environments .
- Check gear mesh (backlash) and lubricate as needed; monitor motor temp after changing gear ratio .
