These objects are a pair of procession lanterns (or lanterns), of Tuscan origin and dating back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries. They were traditionally used during religious ceremonies, supported by long wooden or metal shafts, and could contain candles or small oil lamps.
Materials: They are typically made of tolla (sheet metal) or wrought iron, decorated with gilded and lacquered metal elements.
Style: They have a rich decoration with vegetal motifs, leaf scrolls and are surmounted by small pinnacles. The central structure is polygonal, with glass to protect the flame.
One of them is lower and the stick has been shortened, in very good condition, with some glass missing, coming from an ancient Tuscan residence.
