Victorian M.J. Mendell Black Velvet Jet Beaded Pink Carnation Flower Trim Bonnet Hat

This antique Victorian era M.J. Mendell black velvet jet beaded pink carnation flower trim bonnet hat dates from the 1880s. It is made of a black velvet fabric edging, a black silk back covered with a sheer net jet beaded spiral spiderweb design overlay and pink silk carnation flower trim. This beautiful beaded black evening bonnet has a small petite half hat style, with fancy embellished details, a velvet padded brim surrounding the face, silk ribbon ties for securing under the chin and is fully lined in a black fabric with a "M.J. Mendell Massachusetts" label printed inside. The bonnet measures 6 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 3 inches deep. It is in good condition, with only a few tiny frays on the beaded net and a a small mended repair on the silk tie strap (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana millinery wearable art!
