1993 FPG Bernie Wrightson Master of the Macabre #H1 “Rude Awakening” signed hologram chase card featuring Wrightson’s classic horror artwork, a bold black-marker autograph, and strong provenance from an original Bernie Wrightson FPG collection.

Issued by FPG Cards in 1993, this vintage Bernie Wrightson: Master of the Macabre H1 “Rude Awakening” hologram was one of the special holographic chase cards produced for the celebrated trading-card series devoted to Wrightson’s legendary horror artwork.

The holographic front features Wrightson’s dramatic “Rude Awakening” vampire scene, with the dimensional image changing as the card is tilted under light. The front also bears a large black-marker Bernie Wrightson autograph.

Provenance

This card was acquired as part of a larger Bernie Wrightson: Master of the Macabre Trading Cards auction lot.

The collection included six unopened limited-edition FPG foil boxes, each individually signed by Bernie Wrightson directly on the original shrinkwrap and individually numbered:

The same auction lot also included a complete Master of the Macabre card set, hologram chase cards, autographed chase cards, and a Boris Vallejo prism chase-card set.

This signed hologram was among the loose chase cards acquired with that collection, providing meaningful provenance connecting it directly to the larger signed Bernie Wrightson FPG group.

No separate PSA/DNA, JSA, Beckett or other third-party autograph authentication is included with this individual card.

Bernie Wrightson remains one of the most important American horror and fantasy artists of the modern era. He co-created Swamp Thing and became internationally known for his extraordinary illustrations for Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, along with decades of work for DC Comics, Warren Publishing and numerous horror, fantasy and trading-card projects.

Condition

This is an ungraded vintage card.

The holographic front shows visible surface scratches, light scuffing and normal handling marks that become more noticeable when the card is viewed under direct light. The autograph remains bold, dark and highly visible across the holographic image.

The reverse retains strong color and clearly readable text, with minor expected edge and corner wear from age and handling.
