This vintage item is an original Mary Gregory green glass cheese dome or clock dome cover featuring hand-painted white enamel decoration, likely Bohemian or European in origin dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The piece is crafted from vibrant emerald green transparent glass molded into a bell or dome shape. The top is fitted with a round, solid glass finial knob accented by a single bright gold gilt band around its center. The face displays classic Mary Gregory style artwork executed in thick, textured white enamel, depicting a young boy in 19th-century attire walking through an outdoor landscape toward a small flying bird. The scene is completed with painted rolling hills, tufts of tall grass, and leafy foliage that wraps partially around the side of the dome.
No underplate included, just the dome as pictured. Has one small chip as pictured. Measures about 5 3/8 inches wide. Refer to pics for better idea of style and condition.
