Up for sale is a magnificent, large-scale mid 20th-century original oil painting on hardboard panel, beautifully executed in a vibrant Post-Impressionist / Modernist palette. Measuring 18" x 24", this piece offers fantastic wall presence and gallery impact.

This work demonstrates high-caliber painterly skill, featuring bold color blocking, confident impasto-leaning brushwork, and rich, vibrant jewel tones. The scene depicts a serene boreal lake setting as a single-masted boat glides across deep turquoise and cobalt waters. The background features rolling green hills dotted with rustic village cabins, while the foreground showcases expressive rocks and foliage rendered with dynamic, Fauvist-inspired energy.

The work is clearly signed "Belanger" in dark pigment along the lower left edge.

Housed in a substantial, high-end gilded wood frame. The frame features deep-set channel moldings accented by ornate Gothic Revival trefoil corner flourishes. The warm antique gold finish complements the rich blues and greens of the painting, making it ready to serve as a centerpiece in any modern, mid-century, or traditional interior. Ready to hang.

Both the oil painting surface and the gilded frame are in excellent vintage condition. Colors remain crisp, vivid, and unfaded across the board, with minimal light handling wear to the frame consistent with age.

Measures approximately 21 1/2 by 27 1/2 inches with the frame.
