You're bidding on a very rare c.1867 Gorham "BUST" cube medallion & stag sterling silver serving piece. I think this is a pastry server but you can decide for yourself and use it as you like. The piece features a 3-dimensional bust of a woman at the top with (2) portrait medallions on the cube. It's finished with a stag head at the junction of the handle and serving part and lovely engraved design in the bowl. The back is hallmarked with Gorham's Lion/Anchor/G mark along with the retailer Starr & Marcus name. There is a monogram on the cube that I can't quite read. 
This is in very good condition with minor surface scratches consistent with age and use. Also, there is a minor ding on the back side of the cube. It was tested on the XRF Analyzer to confirm the sterling (see photos). Feel free to do a little research before bidding.
PLEASE NOTE:  Being shown as found and I did NOT polish it. Most of my buyers tell me not to polish the items. I use a macro setting to capture as much detail as possible. Keep in mind when using the zoom tool that you are seeing the item magnified and enlarged many times over.
